In conversation with BAG&BONES founder Gigi Foyle
To accompany the Harrods launch, Gigi Foyle introduced the brand, discussed the collection entering Christmas World and shared the BAG&BONES design she considered a particular favourite.
After the exciting news about BAG&BONES coming to Harrods, please could you introduce yourself and the company that will soon be in store?
Of course. We’re a small, independent LED neon art label based in London. We started out in 2016, and to begin with it was just me, Gigi, and my artist sister Cavanagh.
We’re originally from the west coast of Ireland, which feels like a million miles away from the bright city lights of London. We both gave up stable jobs in the corporate world to pursue our shared dream of working in the creative industries and to wake up in the morning genuinely excited to get to work.
BAG&BONES is all about fun and youthful energy. We’re known for creating pieces that can evoke emotion while also not taking life too seriously.
We’re so excited to launch in Harrods and to sprinkle some neon around the place. Getting into Harrods was one of our moonshot goals when we launched three years ago.
BAG&BONES products will first be located within Christmas World. What products will be available in this area?
We’re launching with three of our most popular designs, including our Let’s Stay Home light, an icon in the making. It glows in a cosy shade of warm white and is perfectly suited to those cold winter months when all you want to do is stay in.
Then there’s the BAG&BONES x MotherPop neon pink lips. We love everything about the pop art movement, and adding a touch of neon really works wonders. It’s a great addition to a gallery-style wall and still has plenty of impact even when it isn’t switched on.
Finally, we couldn’t launch in Harrods without our Love light, created for that special someone, or something, in your life.
Out of all the products you sell, do you have a particular favourite?
The BAG&BONES x MotherPop neon pink lips would have to take that prize because it was a real labour of love between the two of us.
We’ve always worked well as a sister duo, and that piece pretty much encapsulates what we’re all about.
