BAG&BONES DEBUTS NEW MOBILE PHONE LOCKBOX AIMED AT CURBING EXCESSIVE SCREENTIME

Featuring a combination lock and integrated wireless charging functionality for up to two smartphones, the aesthetically pleasing lockbox made of transparent recycled acrylic promises to reconnect users with more of what’s important.

London, United Kingdom – BAG&BONES, the London-based Home Décor brand, is proud to announce the imminent launch of its new Smartphone LockBox.

From browsing and shopping to staying in touch with friends, family and colleagues, there’s no denying mobile phones play a huge role in our day-to-day lives. So much so that recent research shows Brits spend an average of 3 hours 23 minutes a day glued to our devices – equating to 50 days a year. And it’s even more (roughly 60 days on average) among 16–24-year-olds.

After reading a piece of research into the harmful effects of using phones before bedtime and listening to a Steve Bartlett podcast touching on the same subject, BAG&BONES Founder Gigi Foyle set about designing a simple, effective, and aesthetically-pleasing solution to what will undoubtedly become a growing societal problem.

“Speaking from my own personal experience throughout the R&D phase of this project, the physical act of storing your phone away in a lockable box when you get home in the evening, or at any other time of day for that matter, works wonders for reducing your screentime,” says Gigi. “As a business owner, it’s empowered me to work much more effectively through focussed work, while also allowing me to be much more present around my children – excessive screentime has a habit of silently invading so many aspects of day-to-day life, and the LockBox is incredibly effective at stopping that encroachment dead in its tracks.”

The LockBox’s integrated wireless charging functionality provides a further incentive to users, meaning the user’s phone battery is effortlessly recharged once it has been retrieved for use.
